Jay Rea

Jay Rea was the University Archivist and past President of the EWU Retirees Association. He has been a careful saver but like so many, tired of seeing his income decline.

"My wife and I invested in U.S. I-bonds (a low risk, liquid savings product) and realized about a $1700 gain in five years. After exploring the Charitable Gift Annuity and further discussion with EWU's Planned Giving staff, I funded an annuity with a payout just below $1700. I also received a sizeable tax contribution the year the annuity was funded."
